Sports Programs


TOUCH FOOTBALL: Noosa Christian College currently runs Touch Football as our school sport. There are currently teams for both boys and girls in most grades. After school training is one day a week with match games played on another designated day at the Noosa District Sports Complex, Butler Street, Tewantin. 

CHEERLEADING: Cheer is a fantastic team sport (now also an Olympic sport) that incorporates many skills such as tumbling, jumps, dance, stunts and pyramids. Benefits of cheer include, strength, flexibility, fitness, endurance, building confidence, team building and friendships. This is available for Primary students on Thursdays from 3:15 to 4:15pm, with gold coin donation for afternoon tea.


In addition to the scheduled sessions of physical activity during class time, students of Noosa Christian College also participate in scheduled blocks of sport each week.

Term 1: All students from Prep-Year 6 complete Swimming lessons at Eumundi Aquatic Centre.
Term 2: Students in Prep-Year 2 travel off-site to Cooroy for Gymnastics training and Years 3-6 participate in Team Sports. All Primary students also train for their Cross Country event which takes place in Term 2.
Term 3: Students in Prep-Year 2 take part in a variety of team sports and athletics training. Year 3-6 students travel off-site to Noosa Sports Centre to play Futsal.
Term 4: Students in Prep-Year 4 complete another term of Learn to Swim at Eumundi Aquatic Centre and Years 5-6 travel to Noosa Main Beach to learn Surf Skills and Surf Lifesaving.


Infant Swimming Carnival – Students in Prep-Year 2 participate in a fun and engaging mini-swim carnival designed for younger students. Shorter lap lengths and novelty races ensure this is a memorable day whilst building confidence in students prior to joining the competitive races in the Upper Primary Swim Carnival in years to come. Freestyle backstroke noodle, coin diving etc
Swimming Carnival – Students turning 8 – turning 12 years of age participate in the annual swim carnival held at the Eumundi Aquatic Centre. All students are encouraged to participate in their age races and earn participation points for their House. Swimming events include; 25m, 50m & 100m Freestyle,  25m & 50m Breastroke, 25m&50m Backstroke, 25m & 50m Butterfly, Medley and Team Relay races.
Cross Country – The Cross country track passes through the bushland and semi-rainforest creek bed situated at the rear of the property and covers a distance of 1km. Children in years Prep-2 complete one lap of the circuit. Students from Year 3-6 complete 2 laps.
Athletics Carnival – Students from Prep-Year 6 participate in a variety of events according to their age. Pre-Year 2 enjoy modified races and team games to emphasise fun whilst raising confidence in physical challenges. Older students from Year 3 compete in athletic events including; 100m Sprint, 200m Sprint, 400m, 800m, Long Jump, High Jump, Javelin, Shot Put and Discus.


Noosa Christian College (NCC) is an affiliated member of the Noosa District Primary School Sport Association. This provides students aged 10-12 years with a pathway of opportunity to represent the College at District, Regional and State level competitions in a range of sports.

Selected students (according to event results) are provided the opportunity to represent NCC at these trials through the Primary Sports Coordinator Mrs Jacqueline Taylor.


Adventist Schools Sports Association (ASSA):
As a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Schools system in Australia, Noosa Christian College participates in Inter-School Sporting competitions with other Adventist Schools in our region. These schools include; Tweed Valley Adventist College, Gold Coast Christian College, Brisbane Adventist College, Northpine Christian College, Darling Downs Christian School.

Students are invited based on results from NCC school carnivals to represent the College at these events
