Principal

Mrs Jeanette Martin - College Principal - Dip.T, B.Ed., M.Ed.

Mrs Jeanette Martin is one of the founding staff members of Noosa Christian College in 2003 and has remained on staff since then. Her initial teaching appointment was for Prep (2003-2006), but from 2007 she has cared for classes in Upper Primary. Jeanette has served on the College Administration team as Deputy Principal since 2004, as well as Head of Primary from 2007-2016.  She was appointed Principal of NCC at the commencement of 2016.  

Jeanette’s teaching career has spanned more than 30 years and included employment with Queensland State Education from 1985-2002. Her expertise and continuing professionalism in Education has seen her consult to, and oversee several professional programs and committees including;

  • Numeracy coach in problem solving for the “Coaching Academy”, 2013-2015
  • Coach for “Great Teachers -Great Results” ISQ mentoring program, 2015
  • Teaching and Learning committee, 2011-2014
Professional Development in - numeracy, restorative practice, grammar, First Aid, Australian Curriculum, high reliability schools, Marzano Institute of Teaching Research – Art and Science of Teaching, Special learning needs, 21st century learning and well being of students and staff.
 

Office Staff

Ms Pam Maver - Receptionist
Ms Pamela Maver has an enthusiastic and warm personality which brings a welcome feel to our Reception area. We are sure you will find your enquiries answered in a helpful and timely manner. She is extremely capable at co-coordinating many aspects of our administration needs and as a former Payroll Manager, her financial skills further enhance the efficiency of our Reception.

 

Mrs Stephanie Markert (B.Teach) - Financial Controller
Stephanie cares for the financial aspects of our College including fees, accounts payable and the College's operations as part of the wider Adventist Education system. She has a background in Education but has worked for many years in Accounts for law firms, and as an Administrator of a Family Day Care operator.  We welcome Stephanie to NCC in 2016 and know that you will find her a helpful and efficient member of our Admin team.

 

Mrs Dale Bergman - Marketing & Communications/PA to the Principal
Dale has looked after NCC's equestrian interests over the years having won National Equestrian Championships and coached in many disciplines. Dale comes to us with an extensive Corporate business background in global marketing, data analysis, and business management.

 

 

Primary College

Head of Primary - Mr Andrew Beaden - B.Soc.Sci., Grad.Dip.Ed.

KINDY: Mrs Celeste Wareham - B Ed (Early Childhood)
We are excited to welcome our very first Kindergarten Teacher at Noosa Christian College in 2017. Mrs Wareham has taught Prep, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 full time for 11 years and was a Relief and Supply Teacher for 4 years. She has taught at Wondall Heights State School, Dayboro State School, Kurwongbah State School, Northpine Christian College, North Lakes State College and Noosa Christian College.

PREP: Mrs Jodi Presecan
 - Dip.Teach, B.Ed. (Primary)
Mrs Presecan has taught at NCC for a number of years and this is her 5th year teaching Prep. Her teaching career has included appointments at both private and public schools. She is also the Primary Curriculum Co-ordinator.

YEAR 1: Mrs Sara Fatnowna
- B.Ed. (Primary)
Sara has been a staff member at NCC for three years and has worked in several different roles as a Secondary Teacher in Learning Support and as a Chaplain. She is a kind and caring support to students and has been involved in arranging our Random Acts of Kindness Week and Chapel Programs.


YEAR 2: Mrs Sonia Goding 
- Dip.Teach (Primary)
Sonia has been teaching for 17 years and has been at NCC for the past 13 years, where she has taught Prep and Year 1. She has worked at Tweed Valley Adventist College in NSW.   


YEAR 3: Mrs Angela Gray
- Dip.Teach (Primary), Grad. Dip. Ed. (Early Childhood)
Mrs Gray commenced at NCC in 2005 and is in her twelfth year at the College. Her teaching career commenced in Papua New Guinea in 1995 at the Kabiufa International School, and progressed to Macquarie College in Newcastle, Ipswich Adventist School and Ipswich and West Moreton Region State Schools. Mrs Gray is currently studying a Master of Education (Curriculum and Teaching Studies). 


YEAR 4: Mrs Lissa McCallum
- Dip.Teach (Primary), B.Ed.
Lissa has been a teacher for more than 30 years with experience in both Education Queensland and Private Schools. She has taught Year 5 at NCC for nine years plus two years, prior to that, in Learning Support. In 2017, Lissa will teach Year 4 with Mrs Jacqueline Taylor. Lissa was also a drama coach and a Co-Director for the Primary musical in 2015.


YEAR 4: Mrs Jacqueline Taylor 
- B.Ed. (Primary) 
Mrs Taylor has worked at NCC as a Teacher Aide in Prep and in Learning Support for 8 years. In 2016, she rejoined NCC in a co-teaching role in Year 5 after completing her Bachelor of Education in 2015. In 2013 and 2014, Jacqueline arranged the Adidas Fun Run which helped to raise thousands of dollars for school resources. Her passion for children and their development together with her sporting abilities and community-minded spirit will further enrich NCC.


YEAR 5:
Mr Andrew Beaden  - B.Soc.Sci., Grad.Dip.Ed.
Mr Beaden has worked at NCC since January 2014 teaching Year 4 and in 2017, is teaching Year 5. Mr Beaden serves as the Head of Primary and prior to being a teacher, he travelled extensively through Europe, North and South America and several other regions where he volunteered and worked. He also completed a degree in International Development and subsequently interned with a Humanitarian Aid Organisation in Cambodia. His creativity, patience and humour are a benefit to his students, and the wider NCC community.  


YEAR 6: Mr Adam Coe
- B.Ed. (Primary)
Mr Adam Coe has been teaching for a total of 15 years. His previous appointment was at Central Coast Adventist School, in NSW. He is a long standing member of the teaching staff at NCC with this being his 12th year. He has taught Years 5-7 and also Design and Technology to Secondary students in Years 8-10. He also serves as the Primary Sports Coordinator.


Secondary College

Head of Secondary - Mrs Melissa Peachey - BSc. B.Teach

YEAR 7: Mr Jason Sherar - B.Ed. (Secondary)

Mr Sherar has joined NCC in 2017 and is the Year 7 Teacher. Mr Sherar is enthusiastic and creative treacher who recently graduated from Avondale College. His practical teaching experience over a 4 year period has developed his ability to create engaging learning experiences for students. He is passionate about health and fitness, with experience in outdoor recreation and competitive sports. Mr Sherar is also an avid woodworker and designer with many practical abilities and has created custom furniture pieces as a hobby.

YEAR 8:  Ms Courtney Ace - B.A./B.Teach 

Ms Courtney Ace joined NCC in 2015 after graduating from Avondale College of Higher Education in 2014. This year Ms Ace cares for the Year 8 class as their home-room teacher and is also a member of the Yearbook design team.

YEAR 9: VISUAL ARTS, ICT/GRAPHICS, HOME ECONOMICS: Mrs Melinda Zaninni - B.V.Arts, Grad.Dip.Ed.

Mrs Zaninni was a founding Teacher in Secondary at NCC since 2008. Prior to that, she was a professional practicing artist and Adult Learning Visual Arts Teacher, as well as owner/operator of Cooroy Artworks Picture Framing and Studio Gallery for 14 years. She brings plenty of creative inspiration and 'real world' knowledge to share with the students. Mrs Zaninni has been a Senior Graphics Teacher and Middle Secondary School ICT (Information & Communication & Technology/Graphics) Teacher who has served as a Graphic Panelist for QSA (Queensland Studies Authority). The Senior Art Exhibition and our Music, Art and Drama (MAD) Night are co-coordinated by Mrs Zaninni.

YEAR 10: ENGLISH, HISTORY: Mrs Neroli Dobson - B.Ed. (Secondary), TEFL Cert.

Mrs Dobson has been teaching at NCC for more than 10 years. Her teaching career has included appointments at State and Private Schools in Queensland and New South Wales including; Maleny State High School, Northpine Christian College and Tweed Valley Adventist College. She has also taught English in South Korea as well as teaching Korean and Japanese tour groups in Australia. Mrs Dobson is currently completing her Master of Education (Curriculum Studies).

YEAR 11: ITS, SCIENCE, MATHS: Mr Nigel Hobson – B.Ed. (Biol,Sci)

Mr Hobson is a senior member of the teaching staff having worked at NCC since the commencement of Secondary classes more than 10 years ago. Now in his 23rd year of teaching, his previous appointments prior to NCC have included seven years at Brisbane Adventist College and five years at Strathfield Adventist College, in Sydney. Mr Hobson also serves as the Year 11 Form Teacher, Middle School Camps Co-ordinator and Fire Safety Advisor.

YEAR 12: PHYSICS, MATHS, HEAD OF SECONDARY: Ms Melissa Peachey - B.Sc., B.Teach

We welcome Ms Peachey to NCC in 2017. Ms Peachey has taught in Hilliard Christian School in Hobart in 2007, at Macquarie College in Newcastle for over 7 years and at Sapphire Coast Anglican College in Bega for the past 2 years. She is an enthusiastic scuba diver, loves outdoors and playing sports, especially netball, as well as making creafts.

MATHS: Mr Mitchell Lindbeck - B.Ed. (Secondary) 

Welcome Mr Lindbeck to Noosa Christian College in 2017. An avid explorer and climber,and triathlete, Mr Lindbeck graduated from Avondale College in 2015 and worked at Katoomba High School in 2016.

LOTE (Japanese), DRAMA, GEOGRAPHY: Ms Nicole Yaguchi - B.A., Grad.Dip.FET
This is Ms Yaguchi's 11th year of teaching at NCC. She has taught in both State and Private schools in Queensland, in addition to teaching English in Japan for seven years. Ms Yaguchi teaches Japanese from Prep to Year 8, and Drama from Years 7 to 12. She is also the Director of our Secondary College musical. 

DESIGN & TECHNOLOGIES, RELIGION & ETHICS, ENGLISH, WOODWIND: Mr David Rogers - B.A. (French Major), B.Ed. (Industrial Arts)

David has been a staff member of NCC since 2011, working as as a Secondary Teacher for several years before serving as the College Principal from 2013-2015. Last year he made the decision to return to his teaching career in the Secondary campus, where he is also the Secondary Curriculum Coordinator. David’s teaching career of 38 years has included appointments at the following Australian and International institutions; teacher, then Principal of Aore Adventist High School in Vanuatu (12 years), HOD (Technologies), Avondale Adventist School, NSW (6 years), Lecturer at Pacific Adventist University PNG (5 years) and teaching at Penguin Adventist School, Tas (6 years). 

SECONDARY SPORTS COORDINATOR, HPE: Ms Cassie Feldman - B.Sc., B.Ed., B.L.Mgt

Cassie is a local teacher who joined our Teaching Staff in 2015 and comes to us with an impressive academic and professional background. She has taught at a range of schools including two years in Essex, UK, along with Bli Bli and Coolum State Schools. Cassie is also a keen and very accomplished sports woman and coach, having played with the Australian Touch Football Squad and at the Nationals for Touch Australia.

MUSIC, ENGLISH, MATHS: Mrs Anita Mitchell-Kerr  - B.Ed. (GE-BNurs)

Ms Mitchell-Kerr is an accomplished music teacher and has served as the Music Director of the Secondary musicals and other cultural events held at NCC. She has worked at NCC since 2011 and currently teaches Maths, English and Music across the Secondary and Primary campuses.

 

Assistant Teaching Staff

Learning Enhancement: Mrs Felicity Bezer - Dip.Teach

Mrs Bezer has worked as a supply Teacher at NCC for several years, and in 2016 she joins us as a staff member offering Learning Enhancement to our students. She is a passionate educator with over 25 years experience as a classroom teacher, learning support teacher and administrator. With a specialisation in Gifted Education, Felicity managed two Gifted Education support centres for almost a decade before becoming an Educational Consultant. She is also a recipient of the National 'Excellence in Education' Award.   

Teacher's Aide and Learning Support: Mrs Idette Mienert - Cert III Children's Services, Cert III Ed. Support (Currently Studying)

Mrs Mienert has worked with children for many years as a Group Leader, Assistant and in Learning Support for Long Day Care centres and is currently completing her Certificate III in Education Support. She has lived locally for many years and has always been an active member of the NCC community assisting in the classrooms and with the P&F activities, canteen and many school events. 

Teacher's Aide Prep: Mrs Sharina Godber - B.A., B.Teach (Primary), Grad Cert. TESOL

Mrs Godber is our Prep Teacher Aide, and she previously worked at NCC working relief days and teaching blocks when other staff were away. She has worked as a Prep Teacher at Wahroonga Adventist School (NSW) and has taught English in South Korea for 6 months. She has travelled extensively through North America and Europe and has a keen interest in sports including snowboarding, wakeboarding and learning to surf.

Teacher's Aide and Learning Support: Mrs Joan McNally

A former midwife, Mrs McNally commenced at NCC in 2010 as a Teacher's Aide. In 2017, Mrs McNally commences full time in our Secondary College assisting students in our Learning Support Program. Her passion is to see students not limited, as they all have so much more potential to go beyond the boundaries of their constraints. Mrs McNally believes in finding out who the students are and growing them. She is a very keen scuba diver, loves snorkelling, reading and gardening.

Learning Support Coordinator: Mrs Meg Harebottle - B.Ed.

Mrs Harebottle has taught in South Africa for twenty years as a music and senior Primary class teacher. During a holiday to New Zealand in 2008, she was offered a teaching post at Southland Adventist Christian School in Invercargill, teaching Years 7 and 8. Mrs Harebottle was there for three and a half years, until she answered the call to be Principal of Coral Coast Christian School in Bundaberg, where she remained for four years. Mrs Harebottle joined Noosa Christian College in 2016, and presently enjoys being a part of the Learning Enhancement team. Her passion is helping students experience the WOW of expanding one's mind. On top of core teaching, she loves music and directing the Primary College Choir. Mrs Harebottle also enjoys art and art journalling, and doing handbells with those who love instrumental music. She is an avid hiker, bird watcher, swimmer and loves doing Sudoku puzzles!

Teacher's Aide Kindy: Mrs Deb Clare  - Cert III Ed. Support
Mrs Clare moved to Australia from the U.K. in 2009. She holds a Cert III in Education Support and will commence studying for a Diploma in 2017. Mrs Clare has worked at NCC in both Primary and Secondary Colleges and more recently, at Cooroy State School. She enjoys going to the beach, travelling and spending time with family and friends. Working with children and helping them build character and life skills to set them on their life's journey is Mrs Clare's passion, and she loves to watch them learn and achieve their potential.

Chaplains

Pr David Reilly:
Pastor David Reilly has served as a Chaplain of Noosa Christian College since 2008, in conjunction with his appointment as the Minister for Cooroy Seventh-day Adventist Church. He has been involved in several Pastoral Care initiatives such as 'Pulse', and the Buddy System. You can read more about our Pastoral Care programs here .  

Mrs Catherine Campbell:
We welcome Cathy to our College in 2017. Cathy is available every Thursday and Friday, and alternate Wednesdays. Please email her if you need to arrange a time to meet. Cathy has a Bachelor of Arts (specialising in Visual Arts) and Bachelor of Teaching from Avondale College and has been relief teaching at Brisbane Adventist College for 2 years. Cathy has worked with youth groups and you can find her in her spare time, painting, bike riding, going to the beach and drawing.
